In This City

I took this photograph while also on spring break. I love this photograph because of how the sun is on the other side of the building while this photograph was taken. This photograph is of the senior's building located in my hometown of Bainbridge, right beside the Dairy Queen. This photo has been posted in its original state; it has not been edited. Enjoy! :)

Shine

I took this photograph during spring break also, and I simply love it so I then decided to post it. I love how the color is pure and bright, but my favorite thing about this photography is how the sunlight hits the flower just right, making the photograph more interesting. This photo has been posted in its original state; it has not been edited. Enjoy! :)

Parklife

This is a photograph that i took while on spring break this year. After eating dinner at my grandma's on Easter I decided to go for a walk around town, where I took this photograph, along with many, many other. This photograph has been posted in its original state; it has not be edited. Enjoy! :)

Looking Through Your Eyes

I took this photograph while laying around my house, bored as usual. I then edited it via photoshop. This was posted as as open shoot project for photography I. This photograph was, as with all of my other photographs, taken with my Cannon Rebel XS-II. I simply love this photograph because of how awesome the color turned out. Both photographs have been edited via photoshop in both the brightness and contrast aspect of them. Enjoy! :)

Nothing But A Loveboat Baby

This would be my alphabet photography project for photography I class. I absolutely love this. I was inspired to do the word 'loveboat' by my boyfriend & the movie titanic. I simply love this movie and after my boyfriend made the comment that the titanic was just one big 'loveboat' i thought that this would be a perfect idea for this particuliar project. Enjoy! :)

Photo Essay #1

The Secret World Of Cosplay

Select one essay and be prepared to review it for our class. You will show us the essay and speak to these points:
1. Did the photographer use staged photos, candid photos or both?
The photographer used both used both staged and candid photos for the photo essay.
Examples of staged photo:

Examples of candid photos:

2. Color or B&W? Did it make a difference? What factors contributed to the selection of one over the other?

The photographer used only color photos for the photo essay and, in my opinion it did make a difference. Some of the photos were very bright and colorful, making them more interesting and seeming ‘happier’.
3. Find examples of good framing and composition and point them out. How close does the subject feel in the photo?
In this photo the subject of the photo seems to be standing of to the front right of me.
In this photo the subject is positioned to the right sitting on the floor, making me feel as if I am within feet of that girl.
Finally, in this photo the girl is up close and personal with the camera, making it seem as though she is within inches of the lens.
4. Find examples of good use of color and light. Do you see backlighting? Were the photos taken early or late in the day?
In this photo the photographer worked with what appears to be frontlighting, which I like because it made the colors of her costume pop.
While most of the other photos were taken in a well lit mall or hotel area, one photo in particular had poor lighting, but it made the photo interesting as seen in the following examples:
5. How is narration and text used to support the essay?
The narration and text is used to explain what the photo is and why it is important to cosplay, from the photo of the girl holding her costume, explaining what cosplay actually is, to the photo of a ‘cosplayers’ dress explaining all the hard work that many people put into their cosplay costumes.
6. Do the photos in the essay stand alone or do they need to be seen as a part of the whole?
The photos in my opinion need to be seen as a whole because each one represents the
components that make cosplay fun and worthwhile-the work the ‘cosplayer’ puts into being that specific character.
7. Describe your reaction to the essay. Do all photo essays illicit a reaction in the viewer?

My reaction to the essay was giving me a hands on look at not only all the makeup ‘cosplayers’ go through, but also all the hard work that they put into each of their characters.

Staged #1

This would be the first of two in my stage photograph series. This is a photograph recreating, in my own way, the beginning scene in The Chronicle Of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, & The Wardrobe, originally written by C.S Lewis; the scene where Peter & his older sister Susie first discover Narnia after their little sister Lucy, visits the place, later telling them about it. I like this photo because of how the tree branch in front of them is blurred slightly, while my sister & her friend Holly are in full focus. This photograph has been posted in it's original state; it has not been edited. Enjoy! :)

New Age Girl

These photographs would just happen to be of my sister's friend Holly Pummel. She's an amazing model & a lot of fun to photograph. I really like these because of her choice in outfit & how she's posed in the photographs. I like how in the photograph she has managed to become covered in snow. These photos remind me of a JCPenny's catalog ad, making the photographs more interesting. These photographs has been posted in their original state; they have not been edited. Enjoy! :)

American Honey

These photographs would just happen to be of my little sister Sasha, who lives in Bainbridge with my father. I love these photos and find them interesting because of how close up they were taken and at which it has been taken and because she's in focus, while the background is blurry. This photograph has been posted in its original state; it has not been edited. Enjoy! :)

Standing Tall

There are simply no words to describe how awesome I think this photo is & how proud I am of it. Taking this photograph took meticulious planning & thinking, although it wasn't all that hard to do. I took this while out in the woods with my younger sister & her friend Holly. This is probably one of my favorite photos in my snow day series. This photo have beeon posted in its original state; it has not been edited. Enjoy! :)

Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You

This photograph is one of which my little sister sasha's friend Holly Pummell posed for. I like this photo because of how there are two snowflakes on her left eye. I also like how the white background makes her eyes & the color of her lips pop. I took this photo while out sledding with my little sister and her friend, (the subject) Holly. This photo has been posted in its original state; it has been unedited. Enjoy! :)

Life Is A Highway

I like this photograph, which is composed of the grill of a truck in the parking lot of my apartment complex. I like this photograph because the actual truck itself was a pretty navy color-which I liked; it caught my eye. I took this after a long day of sledding after the 'snowstorm' had ended. I also like this photograph because of how the icicles are flowing off the grill itself. This photo has been posted in its original state; it has not been edited. Enjoy! :)

Wtf.....

I love this photograph because of it's humorous meaning. This photograph is one that I did just for fun while sitting at home. It is of a green M&M that I took a rather small bite out of, then wrote "wtf....." above it. I was really bored when I decided to take this photograph so don't be too harsh on me. I've seen similiar ones like this & wanted to re-create it 'my way' as you would call it. This photograph ws posted in its original state; it has not been edited. Enjoy! :)

Blurry Motion Reshoot

This photograph would be my reshoot of the original blurry motion photograph. THis is of a stopsign located on Keran Street in Bourneville, Ohio. I took this photograph one evening while sitting on the school bus. Notice how the bus is moving at the same speed at the stopsign; allowing the stopsign to be in focus while the background is blurry. I like this photo because of how the trees lok in the background, yet the stopsign is is focus. This photo has been posted in it's original state; it has not been edited. Enjoy! :)

Untitled

This would be the second in my staged photography project in Photography I. THis photograph would represent the saying "Life is like a box of chocolates, ya never know what one your gonna get." as said by Forrest Gump in the hit self-titled movie. I like this photograph because of the amazing texture the chocolate has in the photograph and how bright the gold of the foil tray is. This photo has been left in it's original state; it hasn't been edited. Enjoy! :)

Untitled

This would be the first of three in my staged photography project for Photography I. I like this photograph because it allows me to express how I feel about a certain person who I am friends with; when I'm with them, I can't really explain how I feel, so I made this photograph in honor of that. This photograph carries the concept that sometimes we just can't really describe to others how someone makes us feel. This photo has been posted in its original state; it has not been edited. Enjoy! :)

My New Rebel XS-10 :)

This would have to be one of my most favorite birthday gifts of all time. My father bought me this camera for my 16th birthday a few days ago, and now, I never leave home without it. It takes amazing crystal clear photos and, even though I'm still learning how to use all of it's many features, I love it all the same. I've decided to nickname it Jeremy, after my dad who bought it for me. Haha. I really like this photograph because of how I am clear and the background is blurred a little. This photo has been posted in its original state; it has not been edited. Enjoy! :)

Return To Innocence

This is a photograph of my little cousin Addison. I took this photograph while visiting my great aunt Rhonda. I discovered Addison sitting in the living room, coloring away in a coloring book Rhonda had given her. We began to color and, realizing what a great photograph this moment in time would make, I ran to fetch my camera, and caught this snapshot of Addison right before she took off and hid behind the couch. I really like this photograph because the subject, (Addison) was being kept busy by my conversation; keeping her from looking directly into the camera. This photograph has been posted in its original state; it has not been edited. Enjoy! :)

Open Shoot #2

This is the second in my open shooting project. This would be a photograph of a welding tank. I took this photo in the shop classroom. I like this photograph because of the view the photograph was taken in and simple because of the setting and color. This photo has been posted in it's original state; it has not been edited. Enjoy! :)

Open Shoot #1

This would be the first photo in my open shooting project. It is a photograph of a dead plant, sitting out on the patio at my grandmother's house. I like this photograph because of the angle and color of it. I also love this photograph because of darker tone to the right of the photograph. My favorite part however, would have to be the polka dots on the bowl/container of the flowers. This photograph has been posted in its original state; it has not been edited. Enjoy! :)

Neighborhood Shoot #1

This would just happen to be my first photograph for my neighborhood project. I especially like this photograph because of how the rest of the photo appears to be almost colorless, making the red of the bicycle frame pop. I really like this photograph also because of it's simple concept also, this photograph has been 'color splashed'. Enjoy! :)
